Purchase a backpack…..check!

A big step has been made toward my plans of travel, I finally purchased a backpack!  Woo hoo!!!!  I am beyond excited.

So many options, so much to chose from.

For many months I have been researching online.  I looked at all the different styles of backpacks and travel packs along with the pros and cons between the two.  It is overwhelming to see so many options and decide what will be best for me.

There are so many blogs and forums that I browsed to see others opinions on what is the best.  In the end, it’s apparent that everyone is different in what works for them.

I tried on so many different choices and just feel that it’s hard to really know what I am going to want until I get out there and actually use it.  But I kept going back to the same backpack.

What backpack did I end up buying?

The Deuter ACT Lite 45 + 10 Women’s pack.

My biggest ‘must have’ is something small enough that I don’t have to check in on a plane.  I want to be able to carry it on anywhere I go.  Yes, I’m going to be one of those ‘carry on only’ travelers!  I’m ok with that.

In conclusion, I am very happy with my decision. Once I get out and begin my travels, I will know if it was the best choice for me.

Do any of you have experience with this backpack?

Tell me about what you use.  What were your must haves?  Did you end up loving your choice?  Or did you find that it wasn’t the best choice for you?

UPDATE:  I ended up exchanging my Deuter ACT Lite 45 +10 for the Deuter Aircontact Lite 45 +10.  It’s basically the same backpack but I think it’s just a newer model.  And I’m in LOVE with the deep teal/navy blue color much better than the burgundy.

  1. Hi, Cheli. Yes, me too! Carry on only traveler! You should get a day backpack 10 to 20 to walk around local. When I done then I rolled it up and put it in the big backpack.
I purchased Kelty redwing 44 backpack. It is very light to carry. I have a big back pocket to keep a value things that no one can reach in. I heard that someone can cut some area of the backpack that can snatch it without you feel it while you walk.
When I wore the backpack and I felt a pressure on my shoulder. So, I readjusted until feel more comfortable but not too tight.

    1. Hi Eric, it’s great to hear from you. How are your travels going? Yes I still need to get a daypack, definitely a better option over carrying around the big backpack all day. The Kelty looks like a great pack, how are you liking it? Have you had to ever check it yet or have you always been able to carry it on? That is definitely my big goal, always carry on. The Deuter is also completely adjustable so once I get it loaded an on I will be able to tweak it by tightening here and loosening there to make it most comfortable. I hope you are having an amazing time out there during your travels, maybe we’ll cross paths someday soon.
