Oh so Lush!

I have been thinking a lot about what I’m going to use for cleaning products and personal hygiene while traveling around the country.  I try to use natural products as much as I can anyway but on the road it will be just as important, if not more, to use eco friendly products.  Whether it be what ends up in gray water tanks or if I’m showering out the back of my van, I don’t want to be washing away products that are bad for the environment.

I also won’t be having the selection of beauty products that I currently have in my house, I will limiting my stash to the bare essentials.

While I was browsing blogs of other female travelers, I came across a lot of talk about solid shampoo bars.  The one product that I kept seeing over and over is the Lush product line.  I looked into it more and discovered that not only are they eco friendly but they have many vegan products as well.  While I am not vegan (I used to be many years ago) I try to use vegan products whenever I can.  I like using products that aren’t tested on animals and are a healthier option without all the toxins and crap.

So I headed on over to the Lush store in the mall near me so I could see what they had in person.

I ended up getting the Brazilliant shampoo and I have to say I absolutely LOVE it!  I can’t believe how it lathers up in just a second.  I literally only need to wet my hair, swipe the bar down it once and there is so much lather.  I definitely wasn’t expecting it to work so well.  And the
smell is amazing.

It is definitely oh so lush-ious!!!!!!

I also got the Sugar Daddy-O conditioner bar, by recommendation of the sweet young girl who works there.  She was very kind and seemed knowledgeable about the products but when I later went online to check out some other products I read up on the items I had purchased.

Tagline on the website for the Sugar Daddy-O conditioner is “Keeps blonde hair bright”.

Ok, that’s all well and good but uhmm I HAVE BLACK HAIR!  And I mean dyed black hair.  I haven’t noticed an issue yet but I think I need to go back and get a little more information on some of the other options.

I would also like to try some of their other products like Toothy Tabs and maybe even the Deodorants.

I’ll keep you posted if I try anything else.  And please feel free to share your experience or recommendations on the subject.

  1. Yes, Cheli. I uses eco friendly products too. I don’t like to have all kinds of toxic on me, clothes, and my dog, Simon. I have been using Brushing rinse with this brand Essential Oxygen as mouth wash, whitening and brushing. For flossing, I uses this brand Spry with xylitol. Xylitol is good for teeth and would not rot the teeth. There is also Spry toothpaste. I refused to buy toothpaste with fluoride. These products above,my Holistic dentist recommend me when I visited dentist first time since 13 years. I have a hard time about trust people that try to make much money out of me.
So, anyway, whether if you know or not or anyone to like to learn about problem with fluoride. check out the site http://www.nofluoride.com, http://www.fluorideresearch.org, http://www.zerowasteamerica.org, http://www.citizensforsafedrinkingwater.org.
